Football

On October 25th the Bears played against Regents. The Bears played hard but ultimately lost 35-6. In the 4th Quarter, Sam Orick scored a two-yard touchdown run.

On November 1st the Bears played against Hyde Park and won 51-20! In the 1st quarter, Jonah Connor kicked a 30-yard field goal and Zach Billante had a 9-yard touchdown reception from Sam Orick. In the 2nd quarter, Isaac Copeland had a 23-yard touchdown run, Phillip Mach had a 48-yard touchdown reception from Sam Orick, Phillip Mach had a safety, and Zach Billante had a 67 Yard kick-off return for a touchdown. In the 4th quarter, Sam Orick had a 5-yard touchdown run, Phillip Mach had a 4-yard touchdown run, and Zach Billante had a 37-yard punt return for a touchdown. All of Jonah Connor’s extra point kicks were good in the 4th quarter.

The Bears will play their first playoff game on Friday, November 15th! More information will be coming out about that game next week. 

 

Elementary & Middle School

Volleyball

On October 26th the 5th-grade volleyball team played against Veritas at the CAPPS tournament in Round Rock. The 5th grade 4A Lady Bears defeated Veritas 2-1 in the opening round of the tournament on Saturday. Up next was their game against St. Theresa’s. The Lady Bears lost a very close match in the second round of the tournament 0-2. Last our 5th-grade team played against Round Rock Christian. The Lady Bears lost to RRCA on 1-2. The team finished 5th in the league during the regular season and 4th in the postseason tournament.

 

Cross Country

On November 2nd our middle school cross country teams competed in the CAPPS Championship meet. Each athlete ran their best time of the entire season at this meet!

  • For our 5/6 grade teams, there was a total of 6 boys teams and 5 girls teams. The Lady Bears placed 1st, and the Bears placed 5th. Harper Counts won the girls race with a time of 12:44, Hailyn Counts placed 3rd with a time of 13:21, Lynden Worley placed  8th with a time of 14:46, and Anu Oguntade placed 21st with a time of 16:49! Levi Baron came in 2nd place for the boys with a time of 13:21, Cooper Pesco placed 16th with a time of 14:52, and Solis Gauthier placed 20th with a time of 16:37
  • For our 7/8 grade teams, there was a total of 9 boys teams and 7 girls teams. The Lady Bears placed 1st, and the Bears placed 2nd. Lauren Self placed first for the girls race with a time of 12:54, Katie Pittner placed 4th with a time of 13:10, Lyla Kate placed 8th with a time of 14:48, Abby Minoz placed 9th with a time of 14:52, Elizabeth Evertson placed 25th with a time of 16:15, and McKenna Counts placed 26th with a time of 16:18. Renne Cooper placed firsts for the boys with a time of 11:37, Colton McLain placed 4th with a time of 11:52, Jacob Evertson placed 10th with a time of 12:40, and Christian Soto finished the race with a time of 20:47 !
