Elementary
Art & Music

Elementary Music is the introduction to the symphonic sounds of God’s creation. Students explore their role as image-bearers of Christ through their own creative outlet. Students are exposed to progressing fundamentals of music from note reading to pitch vocalization. They also explore introductory instruments with the recorder and ukulele.

Elementary Music Program (K4 – 4th Grade)

In our K4 through third-grade music classes, students experience the joy of music through singing, movement, and playing instruments. They learn that music is a gift from God while exploring elements like rhythm, pitch, and dynamics. Each year builds on the last, helping students grow in musical knowledge and express their faith through music.

4th and 5th Grade Choirs

4th and 5th grade choirs rehearse separately on an every-other-day schedule. They combine to perform together for both their Fall and Spring concerts. In addition to their two school concerts, these ensembles perform at Grandparent’s Day every spring.

Elementary School Art (K-5th)

Exploring Art as a Gift from God
In grades K-3, students are introduced to the joy of art through color, painting, and drawing. They learn that art is a gift from God, discovering beauty in all forms. With each year, students build on previous skills, developing fine motor skills and learning to creatively turn mistakes into masterpieces.

For 4th and 5th graders, the focus shifts to building on these foundational skills by introducing more complex art elements and principles. Students create diverse works displayed throughout the year, enhancing their creativity and understanding of art in a supportive, faith-based environment.
