Building Faith, Character, and Work Ethic in Our Students Through Fine Arts at Brentwood
The 5th grade band is for beginning band students and does not require any prior musical knowledge or experience. Instrument options include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, euphonium, and trombone. The band performs a concert in the fall and spring semesters.
The 6th grade band is made up of experienced musicians. A beginning band class is also offered for 6th graders. The 6th grade band performs a concert in the fall and spring semesters.
The Middle School Band is made up of 7th and 8th grade experienced musicians. They perform a concert in the fall and spring semesters. Band members have the option of auditioning for the ATSSB Region Honor Band in the fall. The band also performs at the Sound Waves Festival in the spring semester.
The High School Band is made up of 9-12th grade experienced musicians. They perform a concert in the fall and spring semesters, perform for Grandparents Day, and perform at the Sound Waves Festival in the spring semester. Band members have the option of auditioning for the ATSSB Region, Area, and All-State Band and the TPSMEA All-State Band in the fall. The band participates in the TAPPS state concert band and solo & ensemble contests in the spring. The pep band performs at home football games and pep rallies.
The jazz band is an extra-curricular ensemble open to all high school band members. They meet outside of regular school hours and performs at fall and spring concerts, the TAPPS state contest, morning concerts before school, and at least once a year for the residents at the Village Christian Apartments.
