Our Bear and Lady Bear athletes had another wonderful week!
Football
On August 30th our varsity football team played their first home game of the season against Brazos Christian. Our Bears won 40-6! Sam Orick had a 44 yard touchdown run, a 1 yard touchdown run, and a 13 yard touchdown run. Jonah Connor kicked the PAT for all 3 of the touchdowns getting the Bears the extra points for each. Jonah Connor also kicked a 32 and a 40 yard field goal! Luke Jackson had an 82 yard kick return. Keller Jackson had a 29yard touchdown run.
Cross Country
On Friday, August 29th our Bears and Lady Bears competed at the Profit Invitational in Temple, Texas. The varsity boys scored 191 and placed 6th. Julia Glenn placed 35th and Minho Yoon placed 14th with a time of 18:27.

Volleyball
On August 30th-31st our varsity team competed at the Prince of Peace Tournament.
The Lady Bears won against Bay Area Christian with scores of 25-21 and 25-16. Caroline Griffith had 8 kills and 10 digs, Ava Alvarado had 8 kills, 14 digs, 10 assists, and 3 aces, Alyssa Mancias had 12 digs, 6 kills, and 3 aces, Brooklyn Allen had 6 kills and 12 digs, and Aurora Tyson had 18 digs.
The Lady Bears won against Pantego with scores of 19-25, 250-20, and15-12. Caroline Griffith had 14 kills and 11 digs, Brooklyn Allen had 7 kills, 13 assists, and 5 digs, Alyssa Mancias had 7 kills and 11 digs, Ava Alvarado had 4 kills, 18 assists, and 9 digs, Aurora Tyson had 30 digs, and Ashlynn Alvarado had 4 kills.
The Lady Bears lost against Episcopal School of Dallas with scores of 19-25, 25-20, and 11-15. Caroline Griffith had 17 kills, 12 digs, and 3 blocks, Aurora Tyson had 25 digs, Alyssa Mancias had 5 kills and 9 digs, Brooklyn Allen had 5 kills, 7 assists, and 5 digs, Ava Alvarado had 3 kills, 16 assists, and 10 digs, Ashlyn Alvarado had 3 kills and 5 blocks, and Jillian Hamilton had 2 kills and 5 blocks.
Out of the 18 schools competing, our Brentwood Christian Lady Bears won third place at the Prince of Peace Christian tournament! Way to go!
On September 3rd our JV and varsity Lady Bears volleyball teams played against Veritas. While the JV Lady Bears put up a good fight they ultimately lost with scores of 25-22, 19-25, and 15-17. Abbie Burcham served 6 points in a row in the first set, this enabled the team to come from behind and win the first set, Abbie also had an amazing save in the last set.
On September 3rd our varsity team won their game against Veritas with scores of 25-8, 25-8, and 25-10. Caroline Griffith had 10 kills, 11 digs, and served for 25 points (15 in a row and 10 in a row), Alyssa Mancias had 10 kills and 5 digs, Brooklyn Allen had 18 assists, 4 kills, and 6 digs, Jillian Hamilton had 5 kills and 5 blocks, Ava Alvarado had 4 kills, 11 assists, and 9 digs, Aurora Tyson had 13 digs, and Ashlyn Alvarado had 2 kills, 4 blocks/assists, and 5 digs.
