Dr. Paul Robison, BCS High School English teacher, will be  leading a writing & reading course for high school students this summer. read below for more information.

Writing Course Details:

Dates: June 13 – July 14 (Week of July 4th off) – 4 weeks total
Days: Monday – Thursdays
Time: 8:30 am – 10:00 am

Course Description:
The premise of this course is: to be a good writer, you must imitate those who are great writers. Students will learn approximately 14 sentence composing tools: words, phrases, and clauses throughout these extended tutoring sessions.  They also learn how to multiply these tools as well as mix them by imitating other sentences where this has been done.  Students will focus on adding punctuation in the same way that professional writers do.  Last years students enjoyed this approach, and some really gained confidence both in their writing abilities as well as being able to recognize various grammatical structures. The textbook “Grammar for High School”  will be used in this course.
