COVID PRACTICES FOR Fine Arts

Our Fine Arts department has been hard at work prepping for this new year. Our teachers have missed the students greatly and are looking forward to seeing them in person and on the screen. There will be some changes to our daily practices but our main goal is to continue to provide some of the annual events and all possible classes. While all of the appropriate changes are necessary given our current situation, they are also temporary; we know God will still do big things this year! Please see the video link below for a message from our Fine Arts Chair, Travis Pollard regarding the Fine Arts programming for all of BCS for the 2020-21 school year.

This year in 4th grade our students will continue to explore art in their classrooms. Additionally, our students will play the recorder for music. Recorders will be allowed outside while socially distanced.

During the first semester of 5th grade, there will be a rotation between Art, Choir, and Music. For Choir and Music, the focus will be on music appreciation. The introduction to Choir and Band that would have normally happened last Spring, will take place during this Fall semester as part of the Fine Arts rotation. Our desire is for students to choose their two electives between Band, Choir, and Art in the second semester. Any singing for choir introduction would occur outside and socially distanced.
