Academics

A Brentwood education is valued because it is based on a curriculum that is...

Fully Rely On God Comprehensive & Challenging
A BCS education is one to be proud of. Our curriculum is broad, comprehensive, and designed to develop students to their full potential.

Elementary classes are self-contained, and while centering on the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic, emphasize instilling traditional values such as responsibility, integrity, and respect – respect for authority and for others.

Specialized teachers compliment this core instruction by providing:

Daily Physical Education and Music instruction
Weekly Spanish and Library classes

Band, Art, and Choir instruction begins in the fifth grade, and Drama and Journalism classes are offered upon entry into junior high.

Secondary students are groomed for college entry, and offered their choice of standard or distinguished scholar programs. Importantly, with junior and senior high students, we also stress development as responsible, respectful, moral young adults.

Teacher with students Christ-Centered
At BCS, the curriculum is not only challenging, comprehensive, and clearly college preparatory, but also clearly and most importantly Christian. Along with regular Bible classes, weekly chapel, and frequent devotional periods, our teachers apply the Christian perspective, in every concept in every subject.

  • Students regularly discuss literature, history, science, and even mathematics, considering biblical concepts and their faith.
  • Two high school classes – Humanities & History and Philosophy of Science – were specially developed by our faculty to allow Christian exploration of modern thought and culture.

Accredited
The school is accredited by the National Christian School Association, an organization that is recognized by the Texas Education Agency through the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission and the National Council for Private School Accreditation. The school is also accredited by SACS, , the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the largest accrediting body in the world.
